Our Thanksgiving Fellowship Dinner is rapidly coming together, thanks to the many longtime OUUF members who know what we need to do! We will have a turkey (donated by OUUF), a vegan alternate dish... and many have signed up on the Bulletin Board to bring this and that. You can still sign up!
SET UP (tables/chairs, etc.) starts at 1:00 on Thanksgiving. Feel free to bring games! We hope to have everything ready so we can start dinner around 1:30. The biggest thing we need to know is how many tables/chairs to set up... Dana Casey would be best at answering any questions (since I have not attended one yet) ... Bring your own wine or non-alcoholic drink. We will have coffee/tea. I will bring napkins, plastic wine glasses, paper dessert plates. Contact Dana Casey at firstname.lastname@example.org or Sandy Goodwick at (818) 489-8626.
For those who wanted a copy of Bridget Laflin's Sunday sermon and were not able to get one, The Creation of God is attached to this November 16 Newsletter.
Holiday Gifts for Children in Foster Care. Would you like to be a Christmas Elf or an OUUF Angel? The last five years OUUF took part in the campaign for Holiday Gifts for Children in Foster Care. The local Foster Parent Association organize it. Last year members of OUUF donated either designated gifts or gave money for gifts to be bought for a child. Our congregational members were very generous. We helped give a happier holiday to 30 children ages 1 month -19 years old.
I will be at Sunday services so folks can get a tag with a child’s needs and wants listed. If you wish to have someone else do the shopping you may donate money. Questions call 360- 683-4315 or e-mail me at email@example.com. If you are not going to be at Sunday service, call me and we can choose a tag for you. Unwrapped gifts must be returned to the church in a bag with the tag attached by December 17th. Thank you!!

Perfume and Aftershave
In years past women and men often wore scents (perfume and aftershave) as a statement of who they were. Those days are long past. Now we have air that is so polluted that we try not to add scents to the air. Many of those in our congregation have problems with scents added to the air pollution we cannot avoid. They can cause asthma attacks as well as severe allergic reactions.
For the sake of those in the congregation who have trouble with scents we ask that you not wear perfume or aftershave to our services.
If you have scents on your clothes from wearing them at other times, washing them with some white vinegar added to the wash water really helps remove the odors.
Thank you for your understanding and help with this problem.
